Overview
We're deep in the middle notch of the present-day Bible Belt. Two seventeen-year-old girls on a Bible Quiz team spend more and more time together, and learn more about themselves and the Bible than they ever thought they would.

Harper's moved back to her aunt’s house for her junior year of high school and her aunt
thinks she should pick everything up where she left off - school, youth ministry, her childhood best friend Hannah. But her relationship with Hannah has changed, and Hannah seems to feel it too.

**Princess Grace Award finalist and The Kilroy's List honorable mention**

“Connolly writes with incredible love both for her queer protagonists and for the odd religious world they come from. It's beautiful to see these two worlds come together, balanced well by the light world of the Bible Quiz Bowl (which is, of course) very high-stakes for some of us...). A well-balanced dramedy that brought a tear to my eye.

Plot
Harper’s returned to live with her Aunt Kate after six years living with her father, and her aunt thinks Harper can just pick up her old life where she left off, complete with youth ministry and her childhood best friend Hannah. Hannah’s eager to make Harper feel at home again, encouraging her to join the Bible Quiz team under the leadership of their slightly tyrannical team captain, Matthew-Mark, so they can spend more time together. As Harper starts finding her way in Bible Quiz practices and she and Hannah spend even more time together, they realize their feelings for each other go deeper than they’d previously thought. Together, they have to try to balance their burgeoning relationship, their Quiz Team responsibilities, and a world that doesn’t understand or support them, all while cramming for Nationals.
