MICHAEL BERRESSE is a Tony and Olivier Award nominated actor and Obie Award winning director and writer. His extensive Broadway acting credits include Kiss Me, Kate (2000 Tony, Outer Critics and Astaire Award nominations), A Chorus Line (2006), The Light in the Piazza (2005 Outer Critics nomination), The Cher Show (2018) and Chicago (1996) among many others. As a Director and Choreographer, he was the recipient of a 2006 Obie Award for his work on the critically-acclaimed, Tony-nominated original musical [title of show] which subsequently transferred to Broadway (2008) and has had hundreds of productions world-wide in a dozen languages. Other directing credits include Now. Here. This. (OCR available), Daniel Zaitchik’s Darling Grenadine (Roundabout Theatre Company) and the world premiere of Analog & Vinyl. As a writer, Michael co-created the “Glass Houses" pilot script for ABC television and is currently working on a full-length animated feature musical. An avid proponent of Arts Education, Michael has taught master classes for many distinguished programs including the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Institute, Northwestern University and the University of Illinois among others. Fun fact: with the quintet “Boys Back East”, Michael was the 1992 Star Search dance grand champion.
