Derek Gregor is a songwriter for the stage and screen collaborating regularly with artists in New York City, Nashville and Los Angeles.
With lyricist Sam Carner, Derek is a recipient of a Richard Rodgers Award, a MAC Award and a John Wallowitch Award. They were among Playbill.com

Carner & Gregor’s musical UNLOCK’D played an extended Off-Broadway run at the Duke Theater in 2013, having previously won “Best of the Fest” at NYMF. It has received subsequent productions including at Houston’s Queensbury Theatre in 2018.
Their musical ISLAND SONG has been produced at theaters and universities around the world since its release in 2017, including the Adirondack Theatre Festival, London’s Stratford Circus Theatre, Circle in the Square Theatre, Bologna’s Tweet Charity (in Italian), Tokyo’s Crawfish (in Japanese), Oakland University, Song and Dance Players of Singapore, Vanderbilt University, Measure For Measure Theater, and more.
Other Carner & Gregor projects in development include TECHIES, which had a workshop production at Rockford University in 2019 and is slated for licensed productions in 2021; a TBA musical adaptation of an ABC television show; and SECOND LINE which received a workshop production at the Bloomington Playwrights Project and developmental readings at Coastal Carolina University, NC State University, Pace New Musicals, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Carner & Gregor’s songs were featured in the new movie musical TRIPLE THREAT and numerous revues and web series, including MY GAY ROOMMATE and REDHEADS ANONYMOUS (2016 Indie Series Award nomination for “Best Song”).
Derek, with lyricist Selda Sahin, wrote the songs for the feature film AMERICAN REJECT (Annaleigh Ashford, Billy Ray Cyrus, Juvenile, Keala Settle). Derek and Selda’s musical MODERN was developed at the Stephen Schwartz ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop, the Village Theatre's Festival Of New Musicals, and the ASCAP "Grow A Show" Workshop in Lincoln, NE. Selda and Derek's original songs will be featured in the upcoming TV series STRINGLIGHTS.
