Useful information: they also happen to also be a donor child. Together, they grapple with reconciling the pain of not knowing a biological parent, while potentially becoming an anonymous egg donor themselves. *Little Egg, Big World* is a highly-theatrical, heartfelt journey of universal struggles in unusual circumstances. With rich characters, stinging humor, and heartbreaking trauma, Little Egg’s journey opens up a massive window into the world of gamete donation. Leighson deftly explores our collective search for belonging, our sitting with the unknown, and our asking that age-old question: what is family? Here's this fantastic [playlist.](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3Qy2ktlkYCWYpQ47RAa3f5?si=d62e718547a14370) The playwright made it to help you get a feel for the tone, which also happens to correspond with Little Egg's life from 1991-2023. It's here for inspiration (not for use in your production). ## Plot *Little Egg, Big World* jumps through time, examining different moments in Little Egg's/Grown Uterus' life. Along the way, they sort the unsortable thoughts with a host of real and imagined characters from parents, to geneticists, to other eggs in utero. As Little Egg searches for her father and Grown Uterus tries to come to terms with anonymous donation, the two navigate through trials of identity, abandonment, betrayal, curiosity, love, and discovery. ## Cast | Name | Role | Description | | ---- | ---- | ---- | | A NOTE ON CASTING: | | If utilizing doubling, the core roles are Little Egg, Grown Uterus, Mom, and Half-Sibling, with Mom and Half-Sibling also playing the additional roles. | | GROWN UTERUS | Principal | 20s-30s, any ethnicity, female- identifying.
