So Cards Against Humanity and Chekhov walk into a bar…
(We're not lying: the Cards Against Humanity People gave this play their blessing.)
Drunkle Vanya is the classic tale of Uncle Vanya, but REALLY funny. And in a bar. And also sad and surprisingly moving. I don't know quite how to expl....just read it. This show is: irreverent. Tragic. Deliciously funny. Immersive. And somehow considering all that, a powerful human experience.
Warnings: there's a healthy dose of audience participation (just read the notes at the beginning of the script. You can do it.) and alcohol. But remember, it's theatre, so it's pretend. Make it water for all we care. Please don't break any laws.
Drunkle Vanya: because we all have busted families, filled with love and angst and booze. And that one crazy uncle...
“Three Day Hangover made Chekhov cool.”
